New Delhi, Aug 3 (IANS) The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday unveiled a significantly upgraded version of its MyCall application, introducing a range of new features aimed at capturing real-time consumer feedback on mobile service quality and overall calling experience.

The revamped app allows users to rate voice calls instantly on a one-to-five-star scale, report call drops and other network-related issues, and provide feedback through automatic prompts after calls.

“The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today launched revamped version of “TRAI MyCall’, a mobile application that enables telecom consumers to directly assess and report the voice-calling experience,” the Ministry of Communications said.

In addition to monitoring the quality of service, the application will also assess the quality of experience from a consumer’s perspective.

Trai Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said the feedback collected through the platform would play an important role in helping telecom operators improve network performance and customer satisfaction.

According to him, the app enables users to review their feedback history and conduct coverage tests, generating insights that can help telecom companies identify network gaps and undertake targeted optimisation measures.

“Every telecom consumer experiences network quality first-hand. The revamped TRAI MyCall app is expected to strengthen consumer participation feedback on telecom service quality by enabling subscribers to provide immediate and perceived feedback on their call experience,” he said.

“The feedback will assist Telecom Service Providers in identifying network deficiencies and taking corrective measures, enhanced customer satisfaction, and a better overall mobile communication experience. The initiative reinforces TRAI’s commitment to a consumer-centric, transparent, and data-driven approach to improving the quality of telecom services. I encourage all mobile users to download the TRAI MyCall application and regularly share their feedback. Every feedback matters, and together we can build a better calling experience for every telecom consumer,” Lahoti added.

The latest version marks the first comprehensive overhaul of the MyCall app since its launch in 2018.

The upgraded application will be available to Android users and introduces a key new feature that allows consumer feedback to be shared directly with telecom service providers, a capability that was absent in the earlier version.
