Traveling on national highways passing through Jaipur has become more expensive as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has raised toll charges at key toll plazas. The revised toll rates, effective from midnight on Monday, now require private vehicle owners to pay higher charges, with increases ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 30 based on the vehicle category.
The toll revision impacts major toll plazas like Manoharpur Toll Plaza on the Jaipur-Delhi route, Sitarampura Toll Plaza on the Ajmer-Agra Ring Road, and Tatiawas Toll Plaza on the Jaipur-Sikar Bypass. Private vehicle users traveling between Jaipur and Delhi will experience the increased toll charges, with cars, jeeps, and vans facing a hike of Rs 5 at Manoharpur Toll Plaza.
At Shahjahanpur Toll Plaza, the toll for cars, jeeps, and vans has risen from Rs 195 to Rs 215, resulting in an additional charge of Rs 20. This toll adjustment means that a one-way trip between Jaipur and Delhi will now cost private vehicle owners Rs 25 more.
The toll revision also affects commercial vehicles at Tatiawas Toll Plaza and Sitarampura Toll Plaza, where rates have been increased for trucks, buses, and heavy vehicles. While toll charges for private vehicles remain unchanged at these plazas, the overall revision is expected to raise transportation costs for commercial operators and slightly increase road travel expenses for commuters using the Jaipur-Delhi highway.
The revised toll rates have led to an 8% to 12% increase in charges for cars, jeeps, taxis, minibuses, buses, and commercial vehicles across key toll plazas on highways passing through Jaipur. This hike is anticipated to make travel on the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway more costly, impacting daily commuters, business travelers, tourists, and families heading to destinations like Delhi or Khatu Shyamji.
The toll adjustments also apply to heavy commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, and other transport vehicles. Experts predict that the heightened toll charges could result in higher freight costs, logistics expenses, and inter-state bus fares on the Jaipur-Delhi route in the near future.
