Bayron Biswas, who won the Sagardighi bypoll in West Bengal as a Congress candidate before joining Trinamool Congress, admitted to betraying his political mentor, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. Biswas, now a Trinamool Congress candidate for the upcoming state Assembly elections, expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging his betrayal. Despite his confidence in winning, Biswas emphasized the importance of providing social services to the people.
In response to Biswas’ confession, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury remarked that the public would judge the traitor. Chowdhury highlighted the distinction between Biswas and Congress candidate Manoj Chakraborty in Sagardighi. Following the demise of Trinamool Congress leader Subrata Saha, a by-election was held, leading to Biswas’ victory as a Congress candidate supported by the Left Front.
After his bypoll success, Bayron Biswas switched allegiance to the Trinamool Congress, causing a stir in state politics. Biswas openly acknowledged his betrayal of the Congress, raising questions about the outcome of Sagardighi in the upcoming Assembly election.
