The Trinamool Congress strongly denounced the murder of Chandranath Rath, the Personal Assistant to BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, and urged for a court-monitored CBI investigation. Rath was fatally shot while returning home from an event in Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas district, sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to his head, chest, and abdomen.
Accompanying Rath was Buddhadeb Bera, who also suffered severe bullet injuries and is in critical condition at Viva City Hospital. The Trinamool Congress, in response to the violence, demanded strict action against the perpetrators and emphasized the need for a thorough inquiry into the incident.
Expressing concern over the tragedy, Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Saayoni Ghosh called for stringent measures against the culprits, emphasizing the importance of upholding law and order. Meanwhile, state BJP president Samik Bhattacharya alleged that Rath’s assassination was a deliberate act orchestrated by the Trinamool Congress leadership in the wake of their electoral defeat.
