Trinamool Congress MLA Bimalendu Sinha Roy, accused of assaulting students in West Bengal’s Nadia district, has refuted the allegations. The incident occurred in Baliadanga village, where the MLA reportedly confronted students returning home after tuition classes. Angry locals and students protested outside Roy’s house, demanding an apology.
Roy claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) orchestrated a conspiracy to defame him. He insisted that he was innocent and blamed BJP leaders for attempting to discredit him. The MLA stated that he was falsely accused and had not engaged in any wrongdoing.
The confrontation unfolded when the students, allegedly obstructing Roy’s car, led to a heated exchange. Roy was accused of physically assaulting the students during the altercation. In response, residents gathered outside his residence, urging him to apologize.
Police from the Murutia station intervened to control the situation, although the protest persisted for a while. Roy accused the BJP of trying to embarrass him, while local BJP representatives dismissed his claims. They asserted that the truth would prevail, with the community judging the situation accurately.
