Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the government’s commitment to providing basic civic amenities and essential services to the people. He stressed the importance of infrastructure development, transparency, and citizen-centric services without any compromise. Saha inaugurated the new ward office of Ward No. 40 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, underlining the city’s transformation through planned development projects.
The Agartala Municipal Corporation has been actively enhancing civic amenities by modernizing infrastructure in the municipal area. Saha pointed out the significant changes in Agartala since 2019, attributing them to well-planned development projects. The state government, in collaboration with the AMC, has been working on planned initiatives to make Agartala a cleaner, more organized, and better-managed city.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Saha, 24 water bodies in the municipal corporation area have been renovated and beautified at a cost of Rs 137 crore. This initiative has significantly improved the city’s environment and urban landscape. The government has also ensured the supply of household drinking water in areas where residents had long faced water scarcity.
Township projects aimed at benefiting urban residents have been initiated, with 48 flats already allotted and progress on the Lighthouse Project underway. Additionally, the government has undertaken the construction of 79,878 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with over 76,000 houses completed. Saha highlighted various ongoing projects under the Smart City Mission to develop Agartala into a modern, sustainable, and technology-driven smart city.
