Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha urged the police force to combat cybercrime, crimes against women and children effectively. He emphasized the importance of a technology-driven and people-friendly policing system in the state. Addressing the passing-out parade of the 91st and 92nd batches of recruit constables, Saha highlighted the need for police personnel to work with honesty, dedication, and a humanitarian approach.
During the 11-month training, the newly-recruited constables, including 318 women, were trained in various aspects like traffic management, disaster response, and maintaining law and order. Saha, who also holds the Home portfolio, stressed the significance of modernizing the police force. He assured full government support to enhance policing infrastructure and capabilities.
The Chief Minister underscored the necessity for police personnel to adapt to modern challenges, especially in combating cybercrime. He reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of women and children. Saha announced upcoming recruitment drives for Sub-Inspectors and additional police constables to strengthen the Tripura Police force.
Saha commended the increasing participation of women in the Tripura Police, reflecting the empowerment of women in law enforcement. He encouraged the newly-recruited constables to serve with dedication and compassion, emphasizing the importance of a humane approach in enforcing the law. Saha also highlighted the significance of familiarizing personnel with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for effective policing.
