Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed confidence that India is on course to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2030, emphasizing the pivotal role of youth and students in shaping the nation’s future. He highlighted the significance of individuals aged 18 to 35 as the backbone of the country, crucial for its security, socio-economic advancement, and infrastructure growth. Saha commended the youth’s active involvement in national development initiatives, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of inclusive progress and trust in the nation’s potential.
Stressing the importance of student engagement, Saha noted the positive outlook for Tripura’s future, citing the need to enhance student organizations’ presence in colleges across the state. He acknowledged the transformative impact of stability post-2014 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, leading India’s ascent from the 11th to the fourth position in the global economy, with projections to secure the third spot by 2030. The Chief Minister encouraged students to participate in societal activities like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and blood donation drives, underscoring the role of education, innovation, and responsible technology utilization in fostering a knowledge-driven society.
Emphasizing the state government’s commitment to tribal community development and the preservation of local languages, including Kokborok, Saha advocated for education in mother tongues to facilitate inclusive growth. The conference, attended by dignitaries including State Higher Education Minister Kishor Burman and ABVP All India General Secretary Kamlesh Singh, aimed to inspire youth participation in nation-building endeavors.
