Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha mentioned that about 80% of the state’s population is now included in the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), showcasing advancements in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). This initiative, led by the Central Government, focuses on granting each individual a unique digital health identity and linking healthcare services on a secure digital platform.
Saha revealed that nearly 80% of Tripura’s population has ABHA accounts under this mission. Additionally, the Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Health Professional Registry (HPR) have been fully established in the state. Moreover, approximately 18 lakh digital tokens have been distributed to patients in 31 government hospitals, enhancing access to healthcare services and reducing waiting times.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, various patient services are now digitally accessible at Agartala Government Medical College’s Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) Hospital, which serves as a model hospital for the initiative. West Tripura district has been designated as a model district to implement digital health projects under this mission.
Highlighting the upcoming phase of digital healthcare reforms, Saha instructed all hospitals covered by Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (CM-JAY) to adopt the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Integrated Hospital Management Information System (HMIS). The state government is also working on integrating the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) with government health portals to enable seamless sharing of patients’ health records across healthcare facilities.
