Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha praised the development initiatives in Assam under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership. He, along with state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee, will be present at Sarma’s swearing-in ceremony in Guwahati. Saha commended the BJP’s success in Assam and West Bengal, expressing confidence in the party’s expanding influence.
Saha highlighted Assam’s progress under Sarma’s governance, emphasizing the government’s commitment to all communities’ welfare. He shared his anticipation for the event, noting the state’s advancement under the BJP’s administration. Sarma was appointed as Chief Minister following his election as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party and the NDA alliance in Assam.
The BJP, along with its allies AGP and BPF, secured a significant victory in the Assam Assembly elections. This victory ensures Sarma’s return as Chief Minister for a second term, maintaining the BJP’s governance in the state. The BJP alone won 82 seats in the 126-member Assembly, with its allies also contributing to the coalition’s success.
