Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed optimism about the BJP’s success in the upcoming Dharmanagar by-election on April 9. He highlighted the party’s development initiatives and the selection of Jahar Chakraborti, a longstanding BJP member, as the candidate chosen by the central leadership.

Chakraborti’s familiarity with the people of Dharmanagar was emphasized by CM Saha, who praised his character and long-standing association with the BJP. The Chief Minister underlined the party’s commitment to every election, including the forthcoming by-election and district council polls.

CM Saha reiterated the BJP’s focus on development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, emphasizing their intention to present their progress to the electorate. Despite challenges from opposition parties like the CPI-M and Congress, he remained confident in the BJP’s chances due to their strong candidate selection.

Regarding the Village Committee (VC) elections within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), the Chief Minister explained the government’s decision to hold separate polls to avoid logistical issues. He mentioned ongoing discussions on the election timing, particularly in light of the upcoming monsoon season and the matter’s review by the Supreme Court.
