Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the decline in patients seeking medical treatment outside the state, attributing it to enhanced healthcare facilities. He mentioned the introduction of an Inter-Departmental Referral System (IDRS) to enhance patient care during the National Dentist Day-2025 event.
Saha acknowledged the significance of dental health on National Dentist Day, emphasizing the year-long importance of dental check-ups. As a dental surgeon himself, he stressed the role of dental health in mental well-being and stress reduction.
The Chief Minister, breaking the trend as a dentist turned CM, emphasized the vital role of forensic odontology in identifying disaster victims through dental records. He also noted healthcare improvements, including doubling the beds at GB Hospital and successful kidney transplants in Tripura.
Saha highlighted the government’s focus on quality healthcare and coordination among departments through the Inter-Departmental Referral System. He expressed commitment to providing accessible healthcare under the vision of a ‘New India’ led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The event, attended by health officials and doctors, aimed to promote dental health awareness and underscore the state’s healthcare advancements.
