In a significant development for Tripura’s pineapple industry, 18 Letters of Intent (LoIs) worth nearly Rs 11 crore were exchanged during the ‘Buyer-Seller Meet’ at the Tripura Queen Pineapple Global Festival 2026 in New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
The festival’s second day saw active participation from policymakers, industry leaders, buyers, exporters, and entrepreneurs, showcasing the market potential of Tripura’s Queen variety pineapple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ was broadcast live, attended by dignitaries including Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
Emphasizing the potential of Tripura Queen Pineapple in both domestic and international markets, officials highlighted the importance of strengthening value chains, enhancing branding, and promoting exports to boost farmers’ income and ensure sustainable growth in the horticulture sector.
