President Donald Trump visited Memphis to commend a significant decrease in violent crime, showcasing it as a success of his law-and-order strategy. FBI Director Kash Patel highlighted the record levels of apprehending criminals, while ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons mentioned the arrest of 619 undocumented immigrants, clarifying that it was not an immigration-focused operation. The event also carried political undertones, with Trump criticizing Democrats for airport disruptions and advocating for voter identification and citizenship proof measures in deals.

Before addressing domestic matters, Trump disclosed a temporary halt in planned US strikes on Iranian energy targets following diplomatic talks with Tehran. Local individuals at the event shared personal experiences of crime impact and the recent positive transformations.
