He pointed out that Iran, once considered the “bully of the Middle East,” has been weakened significantly. Trump stressed the importance of Saudi Arabia joining the accords for the future stability of the Middle East.
Addressing concerns over potential misunderstandings, Trump clarified that Saudi Arabia was aware that joining the Abraham Accords was a prerequisite for the nuclear deal. He reiterated that any agreement with Saudi Arabia would require Congressional approval, emphasizing the importance of the kingdom’s participation in the accords.
During an event celebrating advancements in America’s civilian nuclear industry, Trump highlighted the progress of privately funded advanced reactor projects. Trump also discussed ongoing negotiations with Iran, stating that while the US remains prepared for military action if necessary, diplomatic efforts are ongoing. He reiterated the stance that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons and mentioned ongoing negotiations involving top officials. Trump expressed trust in Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that their involvement in assisting Iran has not been significant.
