US President Donald Trump announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for global shipping under US military safeguard. He declared a “FULL Blockade” on vessels heading to Iranian ports or carrying Iranian cargo. Trump praised the US military for ensuring the flow of oil through the vital energy corridor, crediting their power.
Trump commended key military figures including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine, and Commander of the United States Central Command Admiral Brad Cooper for their role in the operation. He emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is now accessible to all ship traffic except those involving Iran. Trump criticized Iran’s leadership, accusing them of destructive actions and described them as “lying, violent, malicious.”
The President announced new restrictions specifically targeting Iranian maritime trade. He revealed the decision to implement a “FULL Blockade” on ships related to Iranian ports or cargo. Trump also disclosed the replacement of the proposed 20 per cent reimbursement fee with trade and investment deals with Gulf states. He highlighted the potential for significant investments that would boost foreign investment in the US, leading to the creation of numerous high-paying American jobs.
In his statement, Trump reiterated his administration’s stance on Iran’s nuclear program, asserting that Iran’s days of violence and pursuit of nuclear weapons are over.
