TTV Dhinakaran, the General Secretary of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to strategize on defeating the ruling DMK in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The focus of the discussion was on enhancing coordination among NDA partners across all 234 Assembly constituencies rather than seat-sharing arrangements. The aim was to ensure unity and effective grassroots mobilization for a successful election outcome.
Dhinakaran mentioned that the meeting with Amit Shah centered on electoral strategies, with the Union Home Minister providing valuable guidance and suggestions. He highlighted that the talks on seat-sharing within the NDA alliance were progressing smoothly and nearing finalization. The negotiations were anticipated to conclude amicably in Chennai within the next few days, leading to formal announcements.
Emphasizing the NDA’s commitment to challenging the current DMK government, Dhinakaran expressed confidence in the alliance’s support from the people. He projected a victory for the NDA, aiming to establish an AIADMK-led government in Tamil Nadu. In response to criticism from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin regarding AIADMK leaders’ interactions with BJP leadership in Delhi, Dhinakaran dismissed the concerns as politically motivated. He asserted that such engagements were routine and suggested that the DMK’s reactions stemmed from pre-election jitters.
Dhinakaran also made a lighthearted reference to the Indian Premier League, pointing out the presence of non-Tamil players in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team, including the captain. He questioned the lack of objections raised in that context, implying that diversity in teams was common. As alliance discussions near completion and campaign strategies unfold, the NDA is gearing up for a competitive Assembly election in Tamil Nadu.
