Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay has strongly criticized the DMK government in Tamil Nadu, accusing it of failing to maintain law and order in the state. He highlighted a surge in crimes, especially crimes against women, across Tamil Nadu, including in the capital city of Chennai. Vijay expressed shock over recent horrific incidents, such as the murder of a migrant worker and the sexual assault of a young woman, emphasizing the urgent need for action.
Vijay lamented that both residents and migrant workers in Tamil Nadu no longer feel safe due to the prevailing atmosphere of insecurity. He blamed the government for prioritizing corruption over its duty to ensure public safety. The TVK chief criticized the authorities for their alleged indifference towards preventing crimes against women and children, leading to a rise in reported cases of sexual violence, even within educational institutions.
Accusing the government of leniency towards criminals, Vijay warned that this approach is emboldening anti-social elements to commit more serious offenses. He demanded swift and strict punishment for offenders to deter such crimes in the future. Vijay also directed criticism at Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, challenging his claims about the state’s safety for women and calling for immediate action to restore law and order.
