Two individuals have been apprehended for allegedly snatching a mobile phone from a man in northeast Delhi’s Nand Nagri area. The incident occurred on February 25 near Gagan Cinema, as reported by the complainant, Sameer, 25, from Ghaziabad.
Sameer informed the police that while leaving the Gagan Cinema parking lot, two individuals on a motorcycle snatched his mobile phone and quickly fled the scene. Following the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), prompting an investigation.
A specialized team, led by Inspector Anand Yadav from Nand Nagri police station, was assembled to track down the suspects. Through analysis of available clues and local information, the team identified and apprehended one of the accused, Tushar alias Tissu, 22, from Harsh Vihar in Delhi.
During interrogation, Tushar admitted to his role in the crime and revealed the identity of his accomplice, Vikram, 29, also from Harsh Vihar. Subsequently, Vikram was arrested, and the stolen mobile phone was recovered from the possession of the accused, along with the motorcycle used in the theft.
Police disclosed that Tushar had prior involvement in three criminal cases, including attempted murder, robbery, and theft. The investigation into the incident is ongoing to gather further details.
