Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a fire that engulfed a five-storey building in Mamura village, Noida. The incident led to the safe evacuation of over 100 occupants. A man and a woman, in critical condition, were rushed to a nearby hospital but were declared dead by doctors.
Authorities have detained the building owner and leaseholder in connection with the fire. Initial investigations suggest that the blaze originated from a spark in an electric scooter being charged, which then spread to petrol-powered vehicles, escalating the situation.
Emergency services, including police and firefighters, swiftly responded to the scene to conduct rescue operations. Eyewitnesses reported that several individuals experienced suffocation due to the smoke. Locals also played a crucial role in assisting with the evacuation efforts.
