Two flights to and from Srinagar airport were canceled on Tuesday following the issuance of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) at Delhi airport in connection with Republic Day preparations. The affected flights were canceled by the respective airlines due to airspace and operational restrictions imposed at Delhi airport.
Airport authorities mentioned that these restrictions are part of heightened security and logistical arrangements being made ahead of the January 26 celebrations. Passengers were advised to check the latest status of their flights with the concerned airlines before heading to the airport.
In light of the disruptions, airport authorities issued a passenger advisory urging travelers to stay updated on their flight statuses and to be in touch with airlines for rescheduling options or refunds. Officials indicated that flight operations are expected to return to normal once the Republic Day-related restrictions are lifted and airspace operations resume fully.
Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, security agencies, along with the Delhi Police, have intensified security measures in the national capital to prevent potential threats. Posters of most-wanted terrorists have been displayed at various locations, and security has been heightened at major railway stations and bus terminals.
