At least two individuals from the Hazara community were fatally shot, and three others were wounded in Quetta, Pakistan. The victims were attacked by unidentified gunmen while returning from a market. The police suspect it to be a targeted killing incident.

The assailants, riding motorcycles, opened fire on the victims’ vehicle, resulting in two deaths and three injuries. Authorities have launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators. The Hazara community members staged a protest blocking a major road in response to the violence.

In the past, similar attacks have occurred in the Hazargangi area, where Hazara community members have been targeted. A previous incident in 2019 saw 20 individuals killed and 48 injured in a blast at a market. Reports indicate a history of violence against the Hazara community in the region.
