Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur. The fatal accident occurred when their car collided with an unidentified vehicle, causing it to plunge into a ditch near pillar number 246 late Thursday night. The victims, both residents of Gujarat, were on their way to their home state when the collision occurred.

Upon receiving notification of the crash, the Baunli Police promptly responded by transporting the deceased and the injured to the Baunli Community Health Centre (CHC). One of the occupants, Kamal Gohil (35) from Vadodara, Gujarat, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The other passenger, Tejasvi Solanki (32) from Bhavnagar, Gujarat, sustained severe injuries and was initially taken to the Baunli CHC before being referred to Jaipur due to the critical nature of his condition. Tragically, he also passed away en route to Jaipur.

Following the tragic incident, authorities moved the damaged vehicle to a secure location and have since informed the families of the deceased. The bodies of the victims are currently housed in the mortuary of the Baunli CHC, awaiting post-mortem examinations upon the arrival of their families. The Baunli Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are in pursuit of the unidentified vehicle involved.

In a separate road mishap in Nagaur, Rajasthan, two individuals lost their lives while eight others sustained injuries when a vehicle traveling from Jaipur to Balotra veered off the road and overturned. Notably, Rajasthan has witnessed a significant number of road accidents on national highways, with over 7,058 reported accidents and 4,168 fatalities recorded in 2024, following a similar toll in 2023.
