Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a road accident near the Joka Metro Station in Kolkata, West Bengal. The incident occurred when a bike, carrying the two victims from Joka to Thakurpukur, lost control and fell after being hit by a car from behind. The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Anjan Sadhukhan and 35-year-old Priya Das.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident by analyzing CCTV footage from the area. Both victims were pronounced dead upon arrival at Vidyasagar State General Hospital in Kolkata. Authorities are looking into whether the bike was speeding or if the driver violated traffic regulations.
This unfortunate event is not the first accident to happen on Diamond Harbour Road in Behala, Kolkata. Concerns have been raised by commuters and locals regarding the poor road conditions in the city. Kolkata Police Commissioner Supratim Sarkar has acknowledged the situation and pledged preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
