Two men, Rizwan and Samir, accused of killing a 30-year-old man in a motorcycle accident dispute in Dhandhuka town, Ahmedabad, were remanded to two-day police custody by a local court. The court granted the custody after considering the seriousness of the offense and the ongoing probe requirements, despite the police requesting a 10-day remand.
The accused were escorted to court by a convoy of over 15 police personnel for security. Following their court appearance, a detailed crime reconstruction was conducted under tight security measures. Authorities emphasized the need for strict security due to the sensitive nature of the case and the tense atmosphere in the area.
The fatal dispute began with a minor collision involving Samir’s motorcycle and a local youth’s bike, leading to a deadly altercation where Rizwan allegedly attacked the victim with a knife. The victim, Dharmesh Gamara, succumbed to his injuries, sparking violence in the area. Police have taken action against rioters and formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the case impartially.
