Two men have been arrested in connection with the abduction and gang-rape of a Class 12 student in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district. The incident took place on January 6 while the teenager was on her way to school. The accused, identified as 23-year-old Vakil and 28-year-old Hansraj, offered the victim a ride, kidnapped her, and allegedly took turns to assault her in a moving car.
Residents of a neighboring village intervened when they noticed the car’s suspicious movements, prompting the assailants to flee on foot, leaving behind the victim and the vehicle. The victim, initially hesitant to report the crime due to threats on her life, disclosed the details to her family on January 11. An FIR was promptly filed, leading to the arrest of Vakil in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and Hansraj in Bikaner district.
The victim underwent a medical examination, and the vehicle used in the crime was seized for forensic analysis. The police are currently interrogating the suspects and working on building a strong case for prosecution. Both accused individuals are set to appear in court for further investigation into the premeditated abduction.
