Two men, who were getting ready for the Bihar Police recruitment in Rohtas district, tragically lost their lives in a road accident caused by heavy fog. The incident took place in Samhuta village under the Rohtas police station area when a truck, out of control due to poor visibility, struck the men while they were jogging by the roadside.
The victims have been identified as Ashish Kumar from Munji village in Karakat and Ranjan Yadav from Samhuta. Ashish Kumar died on the spot, while Ranjan Yadav, in critical condition, was rushed to Varanasi for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries there.
Both individuals had aspirations of joining the Bihar Police. Their fathers, who work as laborers at a cement factory in Banjari, are devastated by the sudden loss of their sons. Ashish’s father, Jageshwar Prasad, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident.
After the accident, enraged villagers blocked the Dehri–Rohtas road near Samhuta, demanding compensation for the grieving families. The bodies were later sent to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination, and a search operation has been initiated to locate the truck driver who fled the scene.
Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter and have promised to take strict legal action against those responsible. This incident has once again highlighted the risks associated with road safety in foggy conditions and the vulnerability of pedestrians during early morning hours.
