Two Pakistani inmates who escaped from an observation home in R.S. Pura, Jammu, were apprehended by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Punjab. The escapees were captured in a swift police operation. The incident occurred after the inmates, along with a local gangster, fled the Juvenile Observation Home in R.S. Pura, attacking police officers on duty.
Six policemen stationed at the observation home were suspended following the escape of the three inmates. The mother of the escaped gangster, Karanjit Gugga, was reported missing, with authorities suspecting a larger conspiracy behind the escape. The incident took place when the inmates assaulted police personnel and absconded from the facility.
The escaped individuals were identified as Karajeet Singh alias Gugga, a local resident, and two Pakistani nationals, Mohd Sunaullah and Ahsan Anwar. The observation home in R.S. Pura, managed by the Social Welfare Department in Jammu since 1988, caters to undertrials and juveniles in conflict with the law, offering shelter, counseling, education, and rehabilitation services.
