Two workers lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries in a fire at an industrial unit in Pharma City, Parwada, Anakapalli district. The tragic incident occurred at around 5 A.M., leading to the death of Tirinath and Venkatesh, residents of Atchutapuram in Visakhapatnam. To control the blaze, three fire engines were deployed promptly.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed sorrow over the fire accident at Dakshin Energy in Pharma City. He reached out to district officials to understand the circumstances of the accident. The Chief Minister was briefed that fire tenders from the Pharma City fire station and Parawada swiftly responded to the incident, managing to bring the fire under control.

CM Chandrababu instructed officials to ensure the injured workers receive high-quality medical care. Additionally, he urged them to provide full support to the victims’ families during this difficult time. Home Minister V. Anitha also expressed shock over the incident and liaised with local authorities to expedite relief efforts. She extended her condolences to the families of the deceased and assured them of the government’s support.

The unfortunate event follows a recent explosion at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), where 10 individuals lost their lives. This incident involved an explosion of a ladle containing approximately 150 tonnes of molten steel, heated to extreme temperatures. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, during a visit to Visakhapatnam post the June 8 accident, highlighted the importance of safety audits and strict adherence to safety protocols in industrial units.
