In a significant development concerning the Udaipur gang rape case, police have placed three accused individuals, including the CEO of an IT company, in judicial custody following the conclusion of their remand period. The incident involves the alleged gang rape of a female IT company manager in a moving car within the Sukher police station limits.
As part of the investigation process, authorities have obtained voice samples from all three accused to authenticate audio recordings retrieved from a dashcam. Additionally, medical examinations of the two male accused have been conducted, and the results will be compared with the victim’s medical reports. The victim’s clothing was discovered at the residence of one of the accused couples.
According to the FIR, the incident transpired after a birthday celebration at a hotel on December 20. The victim reported that on the way back, smoking items were purchased before she was dropped off at her residence. Police have interviewed hotel staff to verify the party and taken statements from the shopkeeper to confirm the purchase mentioned in the complaint.
Two other female employees who attended the party were also interrogated. Investigators meticulously scrutinized the timeline, distance covered, and the route taken from the hotel to the drop-off location. CCTV footage from pertinent sites has been gathered and analyzed to validate the sequence of events.
During the inquiry, it emerged that the accused, purportedly intoxicated, initially engaged in inappropriate behavior with the victim inside the moving vehicle. Despite the victim’s objections and requests to be taken home, her appeals were disregarded. Allegedly, she was driven around in the car for nearly three hours, during which the alleged gang rape occurred. Subsequently, a case was filed against the accused based on these revelations.
Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, with further evidence currently under examination.
