After the recent Brihanmumbai municipal corporation (BMC) poll results, Shiv Sena-UBT President Uddhav Thackeray expressed confidence in his party’s resilience. Thackeray emphasized that despite being targeted on paper by the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Sena faction, the Shiv Sena’s presence on the ground remains strong.
Addressing the newly elected Corporators at his residence, ‘Matoshree,’ Thackeray highlighted the distinction between his party and the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. He credited the party’s success to the elected representatives, acknowledging their pivotal role in the outcome of the election.
Thackeray criticized the Mahayuti alliance for employing various tactics, including persuasion, wealth, punishment, and division, during the election. He commended the loyalty of core party workers, emphasizing that despite challenges, the Shiv Sena stands firm.
In a bold statement, Thackeray criticized the motives of the BJP-Shinde alliance, accusing them of aiming to “mortgage Mumbai” to corporate interests. He warned against betraying the Marathi people and hinted at a potential shift in power regarding the upcoming election for the Mayor of Mumbai.
Thackeray concluded his speech by praising the unity among Shiv Sena-UBT Corporators and highlighting the party’s determination to succeed. He emphasized the importance of this unity for future victories and urged continued perseverance and strength within the party.
