Amid campaigning for the upcoming BMC elections, Shiv Sena-UBT Chief Uddhav Thackeray launched a strong political attack on the BJP. Thackeray, in an interview, criticized the BJP, dismissing their claims of being a “pro-Hindutva party” and accusing them of being power-hungry.
He compared the BJP’s behavior to opportunism, stating that they are willing to ally with anyone, including goons, just to retain power. Thackeray also expressed concerns about the current political atmosphere, calling it “strange” and expressing hope for fair elections.
Thackeray emphasized the importance of Mumbai’s identity, asserting that the city’s Mayor should be a Marathi person. He questioned the BJP’s attempts to impose languages on the city and accused the Maharashtra administration of burdening Mumbai with debt and exploiting its resources.
