The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with MapmyIndia to display authorized Aadhaar centers on the Mappls App for user convenience. This collaboration aims to help users locate centers offering services such as adult enrollment, child enrollment, or address and mobile updates. The agreement, signed on April 1, 2026, focuses on improving public convenience and ensuring easy access to Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) and other centers nationwide.
MapmyIndia will integrate UIDAI-provided Aadhaar center information into its platform, ensuring accurate mapping and clear listings of these centers. CEO of UIDAI, Bhuvnesh Kumar, emphasized the resident-centric approach of this collaboration, highlighting the benefits of easily locating authorized Aadhaar centers across India. Previously, UIDAI had partnered with Google to display authorized Aadhaar centers on Google Maps, enhancing accessibility for residents.
In the upcoming phase of the collaboration, UIDAI plans to leverage Google Business Profile to manage center information and address user feedback directly. This initiative aims to provide transparent and responsive services, with a focus on enhancing user experience. Additionally, residents may soon be able to book appointments directly through the Google Maps interface, streamlining their visit planning process.
The recent launch of a new Aadhaar mobile app in January aimed to simplify identity verification processes, making it faster and more citizen-friendly. Users can now carry and share their digital identity conveniently from their mobile devices, enhancing the overall user experience and security.
