Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan spoke at a farmers’ conference in Merta, Nagaur, Rajasthan, emphasizing the government’s commitment to safeguarding farmers’ dignity and interests. Chauhan highlighted the introduction of a new Seed Law and Pesticide Act to combat the sale of counterfeit agricultural products. Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena, referring to as “Baba,” expressed mutual respect and cooperation with Chauhan at the event.
At the conference, development projects worth over Rs 3,200 crore were unveiled for farmers, including funds allocated for various schemes like Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and PM Awas Yojana (Rural). Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma presented a plough to Chauhan, symbolizing respect for the farming community. Notably, Khinvsar MLA Revantram Danga was absent from the stage due to recent controversy surrounding alleged misconduct.
CM Sharma criticized the Congress party for alleged malpractices, contrasting their accusations of vote theft with their own questionable actions. The event, attended by a significant number of women, showcased discussions on welfare schemes and governance reforms aimed at bolstering Rajasthan’s agricultural sector.
