Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his commitment to genuinely improve farmers’ lives at the ‘Advanced Agriculture Festival’ in Raisen. He emphasized the need to increase farmers’ income for India’s real development, stating that farmers are like God to him. Chouhan aims to create a model for agricultural transformation that can serve as a national blueprint.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, a scheme for agricultural upliftment is in progress to ensure food security for 140 crore Indians. Chouhan urged farmers to embrace integrated farming practices, combining crops with animal husbandry, beekeeping, and poultry. He highlighted a one-acre model showcased at the fair that could yield over Rs 5 lakh annually.
Encouraging farmers to attend technical seminars on various aspects of farming, Chouhan described the fair as a unique platform to reshape agricultural practices. Nearly 4,000 farmers registered for training sessions led by scientists, with support from a new mobile app providing instant soil and fertilizer guidance.
Chouhan announced the upcoming release of a comprehensive agriculture roadmap for four districts, tailored to local conditions. He assured that both central and state governments are dedicated to implementing this roadmap sincerely. Plans include developing the region as a horticulture hub and strengthening the pulse mission with assured procurement at the minimum support price.
