Amid concerns over CBSE’s On-Screen Marking system, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan pledged to take decisive action if any deliberate misconduct is uncovered. Pradhan defended the digital evaluation process involving 40 crore scanned pages for 17 lakh students, emphasizing the introduction of On-Screen Marking for the first time.
The minister lauded On-Screen Marking as a student-friendly innovation adopted by universities globally to enhance transparency and accessibility. Acknowledging some challenges, Pradhan vowed to address student queries promptly and involve IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras to resolve technical issues.
Pradhan emphasized accountability, stating that intentional lapses would not be tolerated. He criticized Rahul Gandhi for opposing government reforms and urged political parties not to politicize student-related matters. CBSE rejected Gandhi’s allegations, clarifying the procurement process for the OSM system.
