Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited Bhopal and met with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to talk about education, youth development, and governance. CM Yadav warmly received Pradhan at his official residence, gifting him a bouquet and a traditional angavastram. The two leaders, both from the BJP, engaged in discussions concerning governance and development.
During his visit, Pradhan took part in a cleanliness drive at Nageshwar Mahadev Temple in Suraj Nagar as part of events marking 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government. He emphasized the importance of public involvement in such initiatives and encouraged citizens to prioritize cleanliness for a healthier and more developed India.
Accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishvas Sarang, Pradhan visited the Shooting Academy in Bhopal and interacted with athletes. He highlighted the government’s focus on skill development and sports under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, citing the National Education Policy’s emphasis on integrating sports and physical education with academics.
Efforts are underway to synchronize sports and studies through a dedicated academic framework, with plans to link athletes’ academic and sporting achievements using APAAR IDs. Pradhan mentioned the introduction of sports quotas in premier institutions like the IITs to support talented athletes in pursuing higher education while excelling in sports. Looking ahead, he stressed India’s journey towards self-reliance over the next two decades, aiming to host the 2036 Olympics and achieve Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed and globally influential India by 2047.
