Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters to oversee the NEET UG 2026 examination for 23 lakh aspiring doctors. He reviewed operational aspects, logistics, coordination, and monitoring systems for a seamless test nationwide. Officials briefed him on managing candidates and ensuring discipline at exam venues.
The NEET UG 2026 exam, conducted by NTA, had nearly 23 lakh registered candidates across the country under strict protocols. It remains a significant entrance exam for MBBS, BDS, and allied medical programs in India. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) conducted a successful face authentication Proof of Concept during NEET UG 2025 in New Delhi to prevent malpractices.
Aadhaar Face Authentication technology was tested at select NEET centers in Delhi, integrated with NIC’s digital infrastructure and NTA’s protocols. The real-time biometric verification process using Aadhaar’s database was contactless and efficient. The PoC demonstrated high accuracy in candidate verification and potential for curbing impersonation attempts during exams.
The collaborative effort among UIDAI, NIC, and NTA showcased the use of digital innovation to enhance transparency and security in public services.
