Union Health Secretary, Punya Salila Srivastava, unveiled a special Rs 60 commemorative coin to celebrate HLL Lifecare Limited’s diamond jubilee in Thiruvananthapuram. The coin, issued by the Government of India, was revealed during the Diamond Jubilee valedictory function. Srivastava praised HLL for its significant contributions to India’s public healthcare system and social development over the past sixty years.
Describing HLL as a trusted entity of the Union Health Ministry, Srivastava highlighted the organization’s consistent support during national healthcare crises. She specifically mentioned the role of HLL’s AMRIT Pharmacy network in providing affordable access to cancer medicines, branded drugs, and medical devices.
HLL’s future plans and initiatives were also showcased at the event. The PSU introduced new healthcare projects and products, including the Health Innovation Translation Scale-Up Centre in collaboration with IIT Madras, eco-friendly sanitary napkins, and a new packaged drinking water brand.
Chairing the function, Dr. Anitha Thampi, the head of HLL, discussed the organization’s Vision 2030 roadmap for expansion. HLL aims to enhance its presence in AI-enabled healthcare, diagnostics, wellness services, and MedTech innovation. Established in 1966 as part of India’s National Family Planning Programme, HLL has evolved into one of the country’s leading integrated healthcare enterprises with diverse operations.
