Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the new vegetable sub-yard of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Dahegam, Gandhinagar district, Gujarat. This initiative aims to enhance agricultural marketing infrastructure in the region. The inauguration was part of the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations of the Dahegam APMC, attended by various dignitaries including Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani.
The advanced vegetable sub-yard is a significant development to improve agricultural marketing facilities and provide better infrastructure for farmers to sell their produce. During the event, Shah engaged in various activities, such as releasing a commemorative publication and interacting with APMC members. He also planted a sapling as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and welfare for farmers.
The inauguration of the state-of-the-art Vegetable Sub-Yard aligns with the government’s focus on strengthening the cooperative sector and modernizing agricultural marketing. This initiative, under the vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation), aims to enhance farmers’ access to market infrastructure and support rural economic development through cooperative institutions. Agricultural Produce Market Committees play a crucial role in providing regulated marketplaces for farmers to sell their produce transparently and at fair prices.
