Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended the progress of Gujarat’s Patidar community, stating that their achievements in the past 75 years are unparalleled in India. Shah emphasized the need for an academic study to document the community’s transformation and its contributions to the state’s advancement. He highlighted the significant role played by the Patidar community in Gujarat’s growth, attributing their success to qualities like sacrifice, hard work, and patriotism.
Shah underscored the parallel development of Gujarat and the Patidar community since Independence, noting their dominance in various sectors such as agriculture, education, textiles, diamonds, and real estate. He also mentioned the community’s presence in different parts of the world, emphasizing their quick acceptance due to their simplicity and inclusive mindset. Shah further encouraged studying the Patidar community’s achievements and organizational model for the benefit of other social groups.
The inauguration of J.S. Patel Hostel and the Tapasvi Kumar Arvindbhai Patel Girls’ Hostel at Mata Umiya Dham marked the event. These modern hostel facilities, costing over Rs 170 crore, will accommodate approximately 1,600 students pursuing education in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
