Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shah conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the redevelopment of Surya Apartment, Block 2, in Ahmedabad’s Naranpura area. The event, which took place on Makar Sankranti, aimed to enhance urban infrastructure in Gujarat. Minister of State for Urban Development and Urban Housing Darshana Vaghela also graced the occasion, supporting the state’s urban development initiatives.
Home Minister Shah initiated the construction of new residential units to replace the existing Surya Apartment complex. He expressed his well wishes to the future beneficiaries of the redevelopment project, emphasizing the government’s commitment to modernize urban housing facilities. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, Rajya Sabha MP Narhari Amin, and other political leaders.
Residents of Surya Apartment and locals from Naranpura actively participated in the event, signifying a significant milestone in the area’s redevelopment progress. Home Minister Shah, a regular participant in the Uttarayan festival in Ahmedabad, continued the tradition this year by flying kites with party workers and family members in the Naranpura Assembly constituency. He also visited the Lord Jagannath Temple with his family, where he performed rituals, received blessings, and engaged in cow worship and charitable activities.
