Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar disclosed that the Central government has disbursed Rs 259.36 crore to Gram Panchayats in Telangana as the first installment under the 15th Finance Commission. The funds were released after persistent follow-up by him and Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy. This demonstrates the government’s commitment to efficient fund allocation without delays or political interference.
Sanjay Kumar assured that the funds would be distributed in phases, with the next installment scheduled after municipal elections, followed by ZPTC and MPTC elections. Encouraging support for the BJP, he pledged to secure Rs 500 crore from the Centre for municipalities if the party triumphs in the municipal elections. He highlighted the substantial funds allocated for Telangana’s development and criticized the state government for failing to utilize resources effectively.
During BJP’s campaign in Huzurabad, Sanjay Kumar vowed to prioritize the town’s development if the party wins the municipal elections. He criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s promises regarding housing schemes, emphasizing that actual progress has been achieved through the PM Awas Yojana. Sanjay Kumar also questioned the Chief Minister’s unfulfilled commitments, including the construction of a 2BHK house for KCR and his family.
