Union Minister Chirag Paswan expressed his disapproval of using force to silence students’ voices, particularly in response to the recent police action at Jantar Mantar during a student protest. Paswan emphasized the importance of allowing students to express their concerns freely, stating that dialogue is the most effective way to address issues in a democratic society.
In light of the police intervention, Paswan, a leader of the Lok Jansakti Party (Ram Vilas), acknowledged the students’ anger and worries that led them to protest. He respected the sentiments behind the protest, recognizing the natural emotions of students regarding the issues at hand.
While Paswan supported the right of students to protest peacefully, he firmly opposed any use of force to suppress their voices. He stressed the significance of engaging in meaningful discussions with students rather than resorting to coercive measures. Paswan highlighted that public demonstrations are a legitimate form of expressing dissent in a democracy, but cautioned against excessive force in handling such situations.
