Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu stated that 80% of the Dholera International Airport construction is done, aiming for operation by September or October. The airport integrates with a manufacturing hub, smart city, and semiconductor cluster, marking a significant national project. With completion nearing, the airport will handle 20 lakh passengers annually and support Dholera’s industrial growth.
The project involves collaboration between the Central Government, Gujarat Government, and NICDIT, aligning with PM Modi’s vision for Dholera’s industrial development. The airport, designed as an “Aerotropolis,” will offer proximity advantages for futuristic technology investments. Plans include MRO hangars for Tata’s semiconductor facility and Airbus’s defence partnerships, enhancing India’s aviation capabilities.
Connectivity features like a six-lane National Highway and high-speed rail corridor will link Dholera as a multi-modal transport hub. The airport’s strategic location will support global and domestic companies investing in advanced technologies. Naidu emphasized the importance of completing on-site work by September for commercial operations to commence by September or October.
