Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita highlighted that the BJP-led government in Assam remains dedicated to development and governance, showing little concern for opposition political remarks. Margherita stressed that the ruling alliance, with over 100 MLAs in Assam, is actively engaged in formulating new ideas for the progress and welfare of their constituencies. Assuring a commitment to accelerating developmental projects, Margherita praised Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership in spearheading progress across various sectors.
Margherita criticized the Congress for its uncertain political stance and electoral strategy post the Assembly polls. He accused the Congress of fearing a return to what he termed as “appeasement politics” linked to a specific minority community, suggesting that public perception would not change despite attempts to alter their image. Margherita reiterated the BJP’s focus on establishing a “progressive Assam” aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and the state’s expectations for development-oriented governance.
The Union Minister emphasized the BJP’s commitment to fostering a competitive yet respectful political environment, devoid of personal attacks against opposition leaders. Margherita reiterated the government’s dedication to meeting the aspirations of the people of Assam through a forward-looking and growth-centric approach.
