Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi visited Nagaland and highlighted the importance of implementing SME-related initiatives for the welfare and economic development of the people. During a review meeting in Longleng district, officials discussed the progress of various Government of India schemes and programs. The Central team, following PM Modi’s directives, assessed the district’s developmental needs for further action.
Chairman of Dimapur District Planning and Development Board, A. Pongshi Phom, expressed gratitude for the Central delegation’s visit and praised the Government of India for its people-centric welfare schemes. He acknowledged the positive impact of these initiatives on the lives of the people in Longleng district. Phom also commended the inclusive development efforts under PM Modi’s leadership, emphasizing the improvements in infrastructure, economy, and public welfare.
Phom highlighted the significant role of the Department of Industries and Commerce in empowering youth through self-employment opportunities in Longleng district. He mentioned the success of schemes like the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme in supporting young entrepreneurs and creating job opportunities. Additionally, he appreciated the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative, which has positively impacted private enterprises and rural livelihoods in Nagaland.
The review meeting focused on the National Oil Palm Mission and the progress of plantation activities benefiting farmers and local communities. Officials stressed the need for coordinated efforts among departments to ensure the effective implementation of welfare schemes. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi commended the district administration and departments for their efforts in implementing developmental and welfare schemes. He encouraged continued dedication to ensure the successful delivery of government programs to the grassroots level for the benefit of the people.
