Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering and safeguarding women and children under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Initiatives like Saksham Anganwadi, POSHAN 2.0, Mission Shakti, and Mission Vatsalya are pivotal in advancing the well-being of women and children. The Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development’s training programs and activities were reviewed during a recent meeting.
Valeti Premchand, Additional Secretary of MWCD & Director of the Institute, shared details about the upcoming Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling program in collaboration with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences. The course, recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India, is set to commence in July 2026. The program aims to train psychosocial counselors to support children’s mental and emotional growth effectively.
During the program, a plantation drive was initiated following PM Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. The Union Minister and guests planted five saplings – Banyan, Peepal, Bael, Ashoka, and Amla – at the Institute campus. The importance of gathering feedback from training participants to enhance policy implementation and improve the Ministry’s schemes was emphasized for better outcomes.
