Union Minister Giriraj Singh responded to reports indicating that Saudi Arabia is considering limitations on the slaughter of specific animals, such as cows and camels. He emphasized that discussions in some Gulf countries are ongoing regarding the slaughter of large animals. Singh highlighted that Arab Muslims, who are considered genuine Muslims, do not have cow sacrifice mentioned in the Quran, and he criticized the unnecessary controversy surrounding this issue in India.
Singh pointed out that in countries like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, there are “converted Muslims” and alleged that certain groups in India exploit the cow slaughter issue to offend Hindu sentiments. He noted that this practice began because of the significance of cows in Hindu worship. The Union Minister stressed the importance of adhering to legal provisions concerning animal slaughter and urged state authorities, including the Bihar government, to take decisive action against any violations.
Singh commended states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal for regulating public slaughter practices. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Ministers of these states for prohibiting slaughter on roads. Additionally, Singh accused opposition parties of engaging in appeasement politics for electoral benefits, which he believes has fueled social and religious tensions repeatedly.
In response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s prediction that the Narendra Modi government would collapse within a year, Singh dismissed the claim and questioned Gandhi’s credibility. He suggested that if Gandhi possessed astrological abilities, he should first focus on his own future. Singh also accused Gandhi of trying to divert attention from issues related to financial disclosures, including allegations of substantial income and expenditures on foreign travel. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visits, Singh reiterated that these trips were connected to official engagements in sectors like crude oil, gas, semiconductors, and defense cooperation. He emphasized the need for individuals facing financial irregularity allegations to respond transparently to the public and legal authorities.
