Union Minister for Mines and Coal G. Kishan Reddy emphasized Rajasthan’s abundant reserves of critical minerals, noting its capability to cater to the escalating demand in vital sectors like defense, energy, agriculture, solar power, and automobiles. Reddy commended the state’s progress as a significant center for critical minerals, attributing this growth to proactive policies, advanced mining techniques, and a favorable investment environment.
During a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Residence in Jaipur, Reddy lauded the comprehensive reforms in the country’s mining sector. He underscored the Central Government’s initiatives aimed at enhancing business ease, which have spurred exploration, auctioning, and production activities in the critical minerals domain. Rajasthan’s substantial critical mineral reserves position it well to meet the rising demands across various sectors, as per Reddy.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted Rajasthan’s status as one of the leading mineral-rich states in the country, emphasizing its vast potential in the mining sector. Sharma stressed the state government’s commitment to transparency, policy enhancements, and infrastructure development in mining. Notably, the Siwana Ring Complex in Barmer and Balotra districts, known for its Rare Earth Elements and Heavy Rare Earth Elements, holds strategic importance for modern technology and clean energy sectors.
Detailed discussions encompassed various energy sector aspects, including joint ventures, solar energy projects, mineral block auctions, and environmental clearances. The meeting also focused on expediting mining projects, ensuring timely completion, and preventing bottlenecks through effective coordination between the Central and State Governments.
